- Products & Business Activities (Antibacterial/Deodorizing Treatment)
In recent years, we have become increasingly careful about bacteria in our surroundings. It is important to create a clean, hygienic environment to prevent contagion by bacteria, and hygienic control of clothing has become an important issue. Antibacterial finishing of textiles has been attracting attention as a way to prevent proliferation of bacteria in the clothing of people who work in an environment that must be kept hygienic. We were one of the first companies to develop an antibacterial treatment to prevent bacteria from proliferating in clothing. We have succeeded in using our microcapsule embedding technology to commercialize the treatment. The antibacterial effect of our product is certified by the red and orange SEK marks (antibacterial finishing for general and specific purposes) approved by the Japan Textile Evaluation Technology Council.

SEK, the Mark of Cleanliness, Hygiene and Comfort
The SEK marking system certifies the antibacterial or antifungal effects of textile products. There are several types of SEK marks including the blue, red and orange marks for products with an antibacterial finish and the green mark for products with an antifungal finish. These marks are approved by the Japan Textile Evaluation Technology Council based on evaluations of the treatment effect, safety, indication method, and washing durability. The orange mark is given to textile products for use at home and in the food industry, and the red mark is given to products for specific purposes such as medicine and nursing care.
SEK Marking Evaluation Criteria
The red SEK mark, which is given to products for specific purposes such as medicine and nursing care, is approved for products that prevent an increase in the number of Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumonia and MRSA, which causes hospital infections.
